Galaxy S26 series not feature significant camera changes!

Key information has leaked regarding Samsung’s next flagship series, the Galaxy S26, which will likely launch early next year. No major surprises are expected regarding the series’ camera setup, at least on the hardware front. According to the leaked information, Samsung has largely confirmed the camera specifications for the three new models it will introduce in the coming months. Here are the details.

The Galaxy S26 Pro’s camera may remain the same as the S25’s

Samsung is expected to make a change to its new model lineup, replacing the Plus model with the Edge model. The new lineup will likely be as follows:

Galaxy S26 Pro (Basic model)
Galaxy S26 Edge (Mid-range model)
Galaxy S26 Ultra (High-end model)

The Galaxy S26 Pro’s camera setup is expected to remain virtually unchanged. This model is expected to feature a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 10-megapixel 3x optical zoom camera, just like the Galaxy S25.

The Galaxy S26 Edge, expected to be the mid-range model, is notable for an interesting change. While the model will retain its 200-megapixel main sensor, it’s expected to lack a dedicated zoom camera. However, the leak claims the ultra-wide camera will receive a significant upgrade. The 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the Galaxy S25 Edge could be upgraded to 50 megapixels on the Galaxy S26 Edge.

No revolutionary hardware updates are expected for the top-of-the-line Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Ultra is expected to retain the ISOCELL HP2 200-megapixel main sensor from its predecessor. However, the main sensor could receive minor improvements, such as improved optics or aperture.

The only remaining uncertainty is whether the secondary 10-megapixel 3x optical zoom sensor will remain the same or be an upgraded unit. While Samsung will retain its sensor hardware, it is generally attempting to balance this by taking photo quality to new levels through software optimizations and AI-assisted image processing.
