EA Sports FC 26 is facing a serious glitch in the regional pricing of FC Points, the in-game premium currency. Users exploited the glitch by using VPNs to transfer their IP addresses to Indonesia and snatch points, which would normally cost much more, for dirt cheap.
This incident is already being hailed as “the biggest mistake in EA’s history.”
$120 in Points for Less Than $1 in EA Sports FC 26
The glitch stems from a decimal point error in FC Point pricing in Indonesia. Users were able to purchase a package normally worth around $120 (18,500 FC Points) for less than $1 when they connected to the Indonesian server using a VPN.

This led to a surge in PC and console players eager to quickly build strong teams and quickly stockpile large amounts of FC Points.
All players had to do was connect to a VPN server based in Indonesia and trick the system into thinking they were browsing from that country.
However, this cheap deal can come at a high price. Online discussions claim that some players who exploited this pricing error and used VPNs to cheat the system have had their accounts suspended or permanently banned.
While EA has yet to officially confirm this, it’s known that these kinds of regional pricing exploits are often a violation of game companies’ terms of service. Players should consider disabling cross-platform (cross-play) features to avoid potentially banned accounts.
While this incident may be considered a misuse of VPN technology, there are many valid reasons to use a VPN in online games. A quality gaming VPN can increase players’ privacy and security against threats like DDoS attacks or malware, while also reducing lag and improving connection speeds to provide a more stable gaming experience.
