Samsung has announced the updated schedule for Project Moohan, the first Android XR headset developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm. Previously rumored to be unveiled on September 29th, the device’s launch has been postponed to October 22nd, according to new reports. Pre-registration for this long-awaited new technology will begin very soon.
Project Moohan is here
Pre-registration for Project Moohan will begin on October 15th and run until October 21st. Immediately following this period, the Project Moohan XR headset will officially launch on October 22nd. Samsung plans to initially release the device exclusively in South Korea, with subsequent phases to be rolled out to other markets.

In terms of specifications, Project Moohan runs the Android XR operating system and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip. The headset features 16GB of RAM, WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. The device also features a dual OLEDoS display with a high refresh rate and a multi-camera system capable of eye and hand tracking.
The expected price range for Project Moohan has also been announced. The device is expected to sell for between 2.5 million and 4 million won in South Korea. This price range is approximately $1,785 to $2,855.
This pricing reflects Samsung’s decision to keep its product more affordable compared to the Apple Vision Pro’s $3,499 price tag. Samsung reportedly plans to ship 100,000 units of Project Moohan by 2025. However, this figure is likely to be revised based on future demand.
