Optoma has gone global with its new 4K home entertainment projector, the Photon Life PK31. It’s part of a trio that also includes the PH31 and PK32, all aimed squarely at casual home viewers who want sharp resolution without over-the-top pricing.
Optoma Photon Life PK31 4K home entertainment projector made for living rooms

The PK31 keeps things simple. It delivers native 4K via DLP tech and throws images up to 150 inches wide. The 1.5–1.65:1 throw ratio gives users some flexibility, while features like manual zoom and auto vertical keystone help tighten up picture framing.
Designed for controlled light environments
This 4K home entertainment projector pushes 900 ISO lumens through an RGB LED system. That’s fine for dim rooms, but don’t expect strong results in daylight. The rated 200,000:1 contrast ratio adds punch to darker scenes, and the light source is built to last around 30,000 hours.
What the Optoma Photon Life PK31 does and doesn’t include
There’s no smart OS baked in. So if you want to stream, you’ll need to bring your own stick or TV box. Thankfully, it offers just enough ports to make setup easy:
- HDMI 2.0 input
- 3.5 mm audio jack
- Integrated 5W speaker
This keeps the design minimal without sacrificing basic usability.
Where to buy the Optoma Photon Life PK31 4K home entertainment projector
The Optoma PK31 is now available across major regions. In the US, it’s up for pre-order at B&H Photo for $1,099. UK buyers can grab it from Richer Sounds for £699, while Coolblue lists it at €667.90 across parts of Europe.
Solid visuals, no frills
Optoma isn’t trying to chase premium bells and whistles here. Instead, the 4K home entertainment projector arrives with just enough spec muscle to satisfy weekend binge-watchers no smart bloat, no hassle.
