Electric car giant Tesla has excited the tech and automotive worlds this week with a mysterious product unveiling planned for Tuesday, October 7th. A short teaser video shared on the X platform on Sunday shows a plastic component resembling a spinning wheel or fan, with the final date “10/7.”
What might Tesla unveil?
This ambiguous video has sparked a storm of speculation about what Tesla will reveal on Tuesday. The most popular guess is that the spinning part in the video is an automotive component. This could point to the recently leaked affordable Tesla Model Y Standard variant.
The spinning object could be a new wheel option for the Model Y. The cheaper Model Y is expected to feature some interior and hardware simplifications to reduce cost, such as a HEPA filter, and is expected to be priced between $35,000 and $40,000.
Some sources believe that the first details of the “affordable Tesla” (known as the Model 2 or Model Q), which is expected to be in the more compact class, smaller than the Model 3, and priced under $30,000, may be revealed at this event.
The rotating plastic fan component in the video could also directly point to the vehicle’s Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system. Tesla uses advanced air filtration systems (HEPA) as standard in its vehicles. This announcement could mean the company will introduce a new HVAC system offering higher efficiency and advanced particulate filtration.
Tesla is assertive in the industry not only with its cars but also with its software and hardware technologies. The first official teaser images or details of the new Roadster, which has been in development for years and is expected to be the “world’s fastest production car,” may be released. It’s also highly likely that a new “Hardware 5.0” processor or an improved version of the FSD software, expected to run AI-assisted driving technologies with greater accuracy, will be announced.
