Vivo has officially launched its highly anticipated new truly wireless earbuds, the Vivo TWS 5 Series, alongside its flagship Vivo X300 series smartphones and the Vivo Pad 5e tablet. Available in two slightly different versions, the TWS 5 has managed to attract attention by combining impressive technical features with an affordable price. Here are the details.
Vivo TWS 5 and TWS 5 Hi-Fi: The Key Difference Is in the Audio
While the Vivo TWS 5 and TWS 5 Hi-Fi models are nearly identical in terms of overall design and features, the only significant difference lies in the audio codecs used. The standard TWS 5 supports LDAC, AAC, SBC, and LC3 codecs. In addition to the standard codecs, the TWS 5 Hi-Fi also supports the LHDC codec, which provides higher-quality audio transmission.

Aside from this minor distinction, both models are equipped with 11mm drivers, deepX 4.0 stereo sound technology, and Hi-Res Audio certification. The Vivo TWS 5 series focuses specifically on call quality. Thanks to the triple-microphone setup, the earbuds offer AI-powered noise reduction, promising a clearer calling experience.
The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) performance is also quite impressive. Vivo claims the earbuds can block ambient noise up to 60 dB, with an average noise reduction depth of 28 dB.
Using the Bluetooth 5.4 standard for connectivity, the earbuds have a 10-meter operating range. They also feature low latency (42 ms), which is crucial for gamers. The earbuds feature a stem design and are IP54 water and dust resistant.
The TWS 5 series also boasts impressive battery life, offering up to 12 hours of continuous use on a single charge. This battery life can be extended up to 48 hours with the charging case. The earbuds also support voice translation, with support for Chinese, English, Korean, French, and many other languages.
Other notable features include touch controls, a frequency response range of 16Hz-48kHz, and multi-point connectivity, allowing for simultaneous connection to multiple devices.
The Vivo TWS 5 series is priced quite competitively for its features:
- Vivo TWS 5 (Standard Model): 399 Yuan (roughly $56)
- Vivo TWS 5 Hi-Fi (High-Fidelity Sound Model): 499 Yuan (roughly $70)
This pricing reflects Vivo’s strategy of bringing high-quality sound and powerful ANC to a broad audience.
