Slack, the enterprise project management and messaging platform, has taken a step to strengthen its competitive edge by integrating its built-in assistant, Slackbot, with the power of artificial intelligence. For years, it had been limited to basic functions like reminders and notifications.
Slack is undergoing a complete overhaul
The platform is working on a completely revamped, AI-powered Slackbot, aiming to increase productivity and streamline workflows, and has launched a large-scale beta phase.

According to reports, the new AI-powered Slackbot assistant can now communicate with users in natural language. These new capabilities allow it to perform essential tasks such as creating plans, setting daily priorities, and analyzing reports.
The assistant gathers relevant information, even minor details, and instantly delivers it to the user. Slack claims that this major update has given employees AI superpowers.
The new assistant integrates with popular tools widely used in the corporate world, such as Google Drive, Salesforce, and OneDrive. This integration allows it to analyze data from different platforms and provide users with clear results.
The company also reports that future developments of Slackbot will allow it to perform actions on behalf of users and even create custom AI agents without writing code.
The beta testing phase, currently available to approximately 70,000 users, is planned for widespread rollout by the end of the year. Importantly, enterprise customers will have the option to disable this new AI feature, but individual users will not have this option.
