Electronic Arts (EA) has removed a map created in Battlefield 6’s popular Portal mode. A player had recreated the famous “Shipment” map from the Call of Duty series in this mode. However, EA quickly removed the map for violating its Community Guidelines. This demonstrates EA’s strict monitoring of “inappropriate” content.
EA Removed Call of Duty Map from Battlefield 6 Portal Mode
Battlefield 6 launched on October 10th. The game offers fans a variety of modes. In addition to the single-player campaign and standard multiplayer modes, the popular FPS game allows players to create their own experiences through Portal Mode. In this mode, players can create their own maps, weapons, and even game rules.

The map removed by EA was called “Shipment 2019 edition.” The reason for the removal was that it violated the Community Guidelines. The rules prohibit players from making “inappropriate references to third-party products.” The popular map in the Call of Duty series, “Shipment,” first appeared in Call of Duty 4. The map is known for its compact size, allowing for action-packed matches.
“Shipment” isn’t the only map captivating the community in Portal mode. Players have already created some very interesting maps using Portal mode. These maps range from close-quarters combat arenas to large-scale battles. For example, “Besieged,” which offers a wave-based defense mode, has become one of the most popular maps to date.
Players looking to easily rack up XP (experience points) against bots have popularized the “Breakthrough Solo Bots” map. This map, while controversial, is a popular choice. Another player recreated the beloved Battlefield 3 map “Noshahr Canals” in Battlefield 6. The map creator noted that this was a challenging task due to the limited resources available in Portal mode.
Portal mode is expected to grow over time. The mode will expand as developers add new features and content creators in the community become familiar with the tool’s intricacies. Battlefield 6 got off to a flying start, reaching over 700,000 concurrent players on Steam immediately after its release.
Electronic Arts announced that the game sold over six million copies in its first three days. These figures demonstrate that Battlefield 6 is a serious contender for this year’s Call of Duty. They also suggest a strong likelihood that EA will support the game for the long haul. What are your thoughts on Battlefield 6’s Portal mode?
