Arc Raiders, the extraction shooter game developed by Embark Studios, has broken a Steam record. Just one day after its release, the game has achieved a massive success, surpassing 264,673 concurrent players on the platform. This figure has made Arc Raiders one of the largest extraction shooter games on Steam.
Arc Raiders breaks Steam records, becoming the most popular game in the genre
The game’s rapid rise confirms the high player counts achieved by developer Embark Studios in a recent playtest called “Server Slam.” Despite being a new IP, Arc Raiders managed to attract over 130,000 concurrent players on Steam in just a few hours. It’s also worth noting that the game currently ranks fifth among the most played games overall on Steam.

Arc Raiders’ peak of 264,673 means it has surpassed other popular titles in the genre. With this success, Arc Raiders set a new record for Steam, especially among extraction shooters with PvP elements. It clearly surpassed the Steam versions of games like Delta Force, Arena Breakout: Infinite, and even the popular Hunt: Showdown in concurrent player count.
The game’s success on Steam also marked a first for developer Embark Studios. The studio’s previous free-to-play title, The Finals, reached a peak of 242,619 concurrent players at launch. Despite being a paid game and belonging to a niche subgenre, Arc Raiders surpassed this figure, making it the studio’s most successful Steam launch to date. Despite all this success, it’s worth noting that Arc Raiders will face strong competition when Escape from Tarkov, considered the most popular game in the genre, arrives on Steam on November 15th.
