As Battlefield 6’s first season continues, hints of new content continue to be found within the game’s code. Five new game modes, labeled as prototypes and in the very early stages of development, have recently been discovered. This leak adds to the previously revealed modes that were reportedly in development.

New modes coming to Battlefield 6

Last month, Insider Gaming announced the development of six different game modes for Battlefield 6. More content was added to the game files after the game’s first season began.

Two of the previously announced modes, Sabotage and Strikepoint, have been confirmed for the game. Now, it has been announced that five new prototype modes are in development: Convoy, Fantastic Four, Gunmaster, Touchdown, and Tug of War.

Details about the gameplay mechanics of two of these new prototypes are available. In Gunmaster mode, players switch weapons after every kill. In the traditional format, players must switch between twenty different weapons and achieve the final kill with a knife to win.

Tug of War mode, on the other hand, may have a structure similar to Breakthrough mode, requiring the capture of flags to advance on the map. In this mode, capturing a flag allows the next flag to push back the enemy team, but the flag can be retaken to maintain the fight.

These leaks suggest that Battlefield 6’s long-term content plans are quite extensive. The fact that these five new modes are labeled “Prototypes” in the game files suggests they are still in the very early stages of development and may be released to players in future content updates.
