The first information about the next generation of Lenovo’s Legion-branded gaming tablets has leaked. It appears the brand is working on two new compact gaming tablets that will feature Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful Snapdragon chipsets.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Massive Battery Power Coming!
According to information shared on Weibo by reliable leaker Smart Pikachu, Lenovo is preparing two new compact gaming tablets. These tablets will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipsets, which will deliver top-tier performance. These new devices will be part of the brand’s popular Legion series and will retain the 16:10 aspect ratio of its predecessor, the Legion Y700.

Lenovo reportedly launched the previous-generation Legion Y700 (Gen 4) in China with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, while the global Legion Tab (2025) will feature the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This suggests that Lenovo may pursue a similar strategy for its next-generation tablets:
- Legion Tab (2026): Could use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
- Legion Y700 (Gen 5) (or 2026 model): Could be equipped with the most powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
This report, also supported by another reliable leaker, specifically details the specifications of the Legion Y700 (2026). Expectations are as follows:
- Processor: Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
- Display: Relatively compact 8.8-inch LCD panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 3K resolution, and a 165Hz refresh rate.
- Battery: Likely a 9,000mAh battery (the previous model had a 7,600mAh capacity).
- Cooling: A massive VC (Vapor Chamber) heat dissipation system to control thermals.
These features demonstrate how the Legion series will raise the bar, especially for users seeking a high-end mobile gaming experience in a compact form factor. The new tablets are expected to be introduced in the first half of 2026.
