In this context, a “Memorandum of Understanding on Nuclear Energy Cooperation” was also signed between TÜNAŞ and South Korea’s KEPCO. TÜNAŞ CEO Necati Yamaç and KEPCO CEO Dong-Cheol Kim signed the memorandum of understanding, which was signed in the presence of President Erdoğan and South Korean President Myung.

The memorandum of understanding aims to enable Turkey and South Korea to mutually share technical data, information, experience, and know-how, as well as to engage in joint projects.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, sharing the agreement on social media, said, “We participated in the meeting between delegations chaired by our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and South Korean President, Mr. Lee Jae Myung. Following the meeting, the ‘Memorandum of Understanding on Nuclear Energy Cooperation’ was signed between TÜNAŞ and KEPCO in the presence of our leaders. With this agreement, we aim to carry out joint work in many areas, from the development of nuclear power plant projects to the sharing of technology and know-how, from site evaluation to project financing and human resources development. I hope this agreement, which will crown our deep-rooted friendship with a strategic partnership in nuclear energy, will be beneficial for our countries.”
