Honor has officially launched its long-awaited flagship smartphones, the Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro, in China. The new series aims to deliver high-end performance, long battery life, and an enhanced visual experience in a slim form factor.
Challenges the Industry with an 8,000mAh Battery and 200MP Camera
Both models feature a 6.55-inch flat AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution (2736×1264 pixels) and a high pixel density of 460 PPI. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color depth, and peak brightness can reach up to 6000 nits. Honor has also added second-generation Motion Blur Reduction Display technology, which automatically activates in moving vehicles. Honor claims that the display bezels, measuring just 1.05mm, are the narrowest in the industry.

The Honor 500 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, built on a 4nm architecture. The Honor 500 Pro has been upgraded to the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, built on a 3nm architecture. Both devices support the Honor Phantom Engine, which can maintain a stable 120 fps in a popular MOBA game, even reaching 118.4 fps at 1% low frame rate, and boasting a claimed “0.00% jitter rate.”
Both smartphones run MagicOS 10.0, based on Android 16. The custom interface supports advanced photography features and cross-platform file sharing, including the new iOS Tap-to-Transfer option, which can transfer ten Live Photos in a second.
The Honor 500 series is equipped with a 200MP main camera using a 1/1.4-inch CMOS sensor, which Honor claims is the largest sensor in its class at this price point. Both models feature a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with autofocus. The Pro version adds a 50MP 3X telephoto portrait lens with optical image stabilization.
On the front, both models feature a 50MP selfie camera, supporting 4K video and a dedicated 3D depth camera for advanced portrait shots. There’s also a dedicated camera shortcut key that provides instant access to the camera app even when the screen is off.
The series boasts an 8,000mAh battery, which Honor claims is the largest in its class, while maintaining a slim 7.75mm profile. The phones support the following charging features:
- Wired Fast Charging: 80W
- Reverse Wired Charging: 27W
- Wireless Charging (Pro Only): 50W
Honor includes IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance ratings. The Pro variant has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, while the standard model uses an optical sensor. The phones will be available in four colors: Moonlight Silver, Ocean Blue, Starlight Pink, and Obsidian Black, and will go on sale at 10 a.m. on November 27. Pricing for the Honor 500 starts at $380, while the 500 Pro starts at $506.
