XPeng’s popular G6 SUV model has been completely redesigned following the brand’s entry into the UK market in February 2025, hoping to attract drivers who want cutting-edge technology without sacrificing practicality. The new G6 emerges as a serious contender, particularly for buyers seeking a fully electric vehicle capable of handling the uncertain realities of daily driving, from busy city streets to the challenging roads of the UK.
Fastest in its Segment: 80% Charge in 12 Minutes
The G6’s biggest asset lies in its cutting-edge charging technology, pushing the boundaries for electric vehicles in its segment. XPeng has designed the vehicle around an 80.8 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery. This cell chemistry eliminates the need for expensive and controversial precious metals such as cobalt, nickel, and manganese while delivering comparable performance.

Combined with XPeng’s advanced 800V High Voltage SiC platform, this new battery achieves an extraordinary peak charging power of 451 kW. This system helps the new G6 achieve the fastest charging time in its segment: from 10% to 80% SoC in just 12 minutes.
This technology also increases battery life by 30%, enhancing the vehicle’s long-term value. For drivers tackling the cold British winters, a highly efficient heat pump is now standard on all trims and, together with XPeng Heat Boost technology, keeps the cabin warm without wasting valuable range.
Performance enthusiasts will find what they’re looking for in the all-wheel-drive (AWD) Performance Black Edition, offered for the first time for British drivers. This dual-motor setup produces 358 kW of power and 660 Nm of torque, enabling this AWD performance version to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.13 seconds.
The Black Edition package includes aggressive elements such as 20-inch black sport alloy wheels, smoked black exterior trim on mirrors and window frames, black brake calipers, and grey suede-textured interior upholstery.
XPeng claims to have made over 20,000 incremental improvements to the G6, focusing on enhancing the driving experience. These detailed changes, ranging from suspension and chassis tuning to improved NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) levels, deliver a more refined ride with exceptional balance and comfort.
On the exterior, the EV receives a striking visual update with a 1942mm Starlight LED light bar that stretches the full width of the front fascia, integrated with turn signals. The G6 features body-colored fender arches and a more understated rear diffuser, complemented by a new rear spoiler, replacing the previous black trim. These fine-tunings help maintain an impressive 0.248 Cd drag coefficient. A new Star Purple color option adds a striking statement to the vehicle.
The interior reveals an equal focus on luxury and functionality. Drivers and passengers will enjoy a modern atmosphere with a new wood-grain instrument panel trim, suede-effect headliner, and a fresh Dark Grey color theme. Front seats feature heating, ventilation, and massage functions, while rear seats offer a 12-position recline.
Practical enhancements include redesigned speaker covers and dual 50W wireless charging panels for smartphones. With a 571-liter boot capacity that expands to 1,374 liters when the rear seats are folded down, and a large center armrest box that comfortably holds up to five standard water bottles, the G6 is truly practical for active families.
The enhanced XOS cockpit system delivers smoother UI transitions, faster app response times, and smarter voice recognition. The improved “Hey XPeng” voice assistant can now offer intelligent suggestions across all four zones of the cabin.
XPeng places a strong emphasis on safety by providing a structural safety frame and ballistic-grade armor around the battery. The comprehensive XPILOT ASSIST system offers advanced driver assistance features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Advanced Automatic Parking Assist.
The new XPeng G6 will hit UK roads in February 2026. Prices will start at €46,890 for the RWD Standard Range model, rise to €52,760 for the Long Range model, and the top-of-the-line AWD Performance Black Edition will be available for €58,620.
