Samsung Electronics announced that, as part of a strategic collaboration with Google, it has integrated Google’s Gemini generative AI model into its high-end Bespoke AI refrigerators. This technology, which will be used in the Bespoke AI Hybrid, Bespoke AI Family Hub, and Infinite AI Wine Refrigerator models scheduled for release in 2026, takes the devices’ visual recognition capabilities to the next level.
Samsung develops AI-powered refrigerators
Thanks to built-in cameras and an AI-based “AI Vision” infrastructure, the refrigerators can identify a much wider range of items inside. Working in conjunction with Samsung’s existing voice assistant Bixby, Gemini automates food management and shopping list creation processes.

The new generation of refrigerators surpasses Bixby’s ability to recognize 37 types of fresh food and 50 types of packaged products with Gemini’s advanced visual analysis capabilities. The devices can now read not only standard barcode products but also labels that users have handwritten or digitally printed on their storage containers.
Thanks to this system, the ingredients and storage dates of homemade meals are automatically recorded in the digital inventory. Additionally, the newly added “AI Food Manager” feature offers recipe suggestions based on the ingredients and expiration dates available in the refrigerator and adds missing items directly to the shopping list.
The AI integration is being expanded to include Samsung’s wine cooler and cellar models. The new system, called “AI Wine Manager,” scans the labels on wine bottles, creating a detailed database containing the wine’s name, type, vineyard region, and vintage year.
Users can instantly see exactly which compartment a desired bottle is stored in within the extensive cellars. If bottles are removed or moved, the list is updated in real-time thanks to the visual tracking system.
