Xiaomi has stepped up its preparations for its massive launch event on December 25th. Alongside the highly anticipated Xiaomi 17 Ultra flagship phone, the company has officially announced that its next-generation smartwatch, the Xiaomi Watch 5, and its high-end headphones, the Xiaomi Buds 6, will also be unveiled that evening.
Xiaomi Watch 5: Your “Smart” Assistant on Your Wrist
Xiaomi describes the new Watch 5 as a “fully smart flagship.” At its heart is the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 platform, built with 4nm architecture and featuring a quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU.
- Muscle Movement Control (EMG): Breaking new ground in the Xiaomi ecosystem, the Watch 5 comes with an EMG (electromyography) sensor. This new technology, accompanying the ECG (electrocardiogram) sensor, detects tiny electrical signals in your wrist muscles. This allows you to control the watch without touching it by converting your hand movements into digital commands. Premium Material: The round-dial watch is protected by ultra-resistant (Mohs hardness scale 9) sapphire glass. Its body, forged from a single piece of stainless steel, complements its elegance with brown and green strap options.

Xiaomi’s new flagship semi-in-ear headphones, the Buds 6, blend sound quality with artificial intelligence. Available in pink, white, and black, the headphones feature an ergonomic “biomimetic curved” design.
- CD-Quality Sound: The headphones target music lovers with the promise of “CD-level lossless original sound.”
- AI Capabilities: The Buds 6 acts as an assistant not only for listening to music but also for daily tasks. Features such as intelligent voice recording, instant translation, and AI-based voice note summarization are highlighted.
- Expectations: Last year’s model, the Buds 5, stood out with its active noise cancellation and up to 39 hours of battery life. The Buds 6 is expected to raise this bar even higher.
Xiaomi’s new ecosystem products will be introduced to the world at a launch event in China on the evening of December 25th.
