Seven 8-bit and 16-bit legends return in The Last Ninja Collection + Bonus Games, a nostalgic revival now available on Steam for longtime fans and curious newcomers alike.
The Last Ninja Collection bundles faithful 8-bit and 16-bit classics

After a slight delay from its original November target, The Last Ninja Collection + Bonus Games is officially out on Steam for $29.99. The set includes seven games from the Commodore 64, Amiga, and ZX Spectrum restored to run exactly as they did decades ago.
At the core of the collection is the entire Last Ninja Trilogy, spanning all three platforms. Each version has been carefully preserved, offering fans an authentic trip back to the golden era of home computing.
New editions and classic fighters join the bundle
This isn’t just a rerelease. Alongside the original trilogy, the collection includes a remixed Ninja Edition with updated visuals and sound. More fighting icons round out the lineup:
- International Karate (Spectrum, C64)
- International Karate+ (C64, Spectrum, Amiga)
- Bangkok Knights (C64, Amiga)
The added titles strengthen the package with fast-paced brawling and competitive play, helping the collection appeal beyond just Last Ninja fans.
System 3 brings The Last Ninja Collection to modern hardware
System 3’s founder, Mark Cale, calls this release a tribute to loyal fans and a way to protect the series’ legacy. The Last Ninja franchise, which sold over 23 million copies, remains one of the most successful series in C64 history.
Thanks to modern compatibility tweaks, this Steam version adds:
- Controller support
- Split-screen multiplayer
- Keyboard-only mode
- Modest specs (1GB RAM, 4th Gen Intel CPU)
You won’t need cutting-edge hardware to run it, just the will to revisit pixel-perfect chaos.
Physical editions are coming, with console versions in tow
Beyond Steam, The Last Ninja Collection + Bonus Games will also get a physical release. Pre-orders are launching soon on System 3’s website. The boxed PC version includes a DVD and a Steam key.
Here’s what’s confirmed:
- PC physical (DVD + digital code)
- PS5 and Switch physical in Q1 2026
- Xbox version (digital-only)
Whether you’re in it for preservation or nostalgia, this bundle is more than just a reissue. It’s a pixel-perfect resurrection with a side of roundhouse kicks.
