Netflix’s phenomenal period drama Bridgerton, which has captivated millions of viewers worldwide, returns with a spectacular trailer for its highly anticipated fourth season. Released on December 25, 2025, coinciding with the show’s fifth anniversary, the 2-minute 32-second teaser offers the first concrete clues about Benedict Bridgerton’s romantic and mysterious journey, which will be central to the story in the new season.
Bridgerton Returns for Season 4
Announced with the slogan “True love wears no mask,” the new season centers on a fairytale-like encounter at a masked ball hosted by Lady Violet.
In the new season, viewers witness a Cinderella-inspired love story adapted from Julia Quinn’s novel “An Offer from a Gentleman.” Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, falls in love at first sight with a mysterious stranger known as the “Lady in the Silver Dress” at the masked ball.
The mysterious woman who flees at midnight, leaving behind only a glove, is revealed to be Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), a maid living under Benedict’s roof. This revelation forms the central conflict of the season. The season explores themes of class differences and identity concealment, showing how Benedict’s free-spirited, marriage-averse attitude will change in the face of this passionate love.
The cast also features significant new additions. In addition to Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha, Katie Leung joins the cast as Sophie’s cold-hearted stepmother, Lady Araminta Gun. Furthermore, beloved actors Nicola Coughlan (Penelope), Luke Newton (Colin), Jonathan Bailey (Anthony), and Simone Ashley (Kate) return to their roles, maintaining the integrity of the Bridgerton universe.
The fourth season, consisting of eight episodes, is being released in two parts to avoid keeping viewers waiting too long. The first part of the season, consisting of the first four episodes, will be available on Netflix on January 29, 2026, while the second part, containing the final episodes, will be released on February 26, 2026.
