Microsoft is preparing a new hardware move that will shake up the gaming world. Leaks regarding the next-generation console family, codenamed “Xbox Magnus,” suggest that the company will unveil two different models at its Xbox Showcase event this summer.
New Xboxes on the way
According to information from industry sources, Microsoft is working on a hybrid device that can be used as both a handheld and a home console, alongside a main model that maintains the traditional console line.

The Xbox Magnus series aims to compete not only with game consoles but also with high-performance gaming computers in terms of technical specifications. The consoles, which are said to be powered by AMD’s latest Zen 6 processor architecture and RDNA 5 graphics unit, are rumored to have the largest processor set (APU) ever used in a gaming device.
The hybrid model is claimed to offer portability similar to the Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck, while providing a full-performance desktop experience when connected to a television, and even allowing access to games from different stores via a Windows-based interface.
In terms of pricing, the Magnus family is being described with figures considered quite high for the gaming world. According to rumors, one model will be priced at $699, while the other, with more powerful hardware and a wider range of usage scenarios, will cost $899.
This high cost is attributed to the inclusion of up to 48GB of GDDR7 memory and dedicated AI units (NPUs) in the consoles. Performance data and release dates are expected to be finalized with the official announcement anticipated in June.
