ASELSAN the leading company of the Turkish defense industry has set its sights on 2026 goals after achieving historic success in 2025. According to statements made by General Manager Ahmet Akyol the priority in the new year will be strengthening and expanding the Steel Dome integrated air defense system. Having signed new export contracts exceeding 2 billion dollars last year the technology giant plans to continue growing by increasing its effectiveness in the international arena.
ASELSAN Steel Dome System Expands Nationwide
Ahmet Akyol emphasized that the Steel Dome is the number one agenda item for 2026. In this context the aim is to gain new capabilities for the lowest and highest layers of the system. According to the plans the Steel Dome will now become more visible and effective across the entire country. While offering more radar and air defense systems to the Turkish army new solutions are also being developed against low cost but high threat elements such as swarm drones. Within this framework innovative weapon systems like Dragon and Gokberk are expected to take an active role in the field.
Historic Records in Exports and New Markets
The company left 2025 behind with records while celebrating its 50th anniversary. Signing new export contracts exceeding the 2 billion dollar threshold for the first time in its history ASELSAN managed to deliver its products to 95 different countries. Just last year foreign sales contracts were made for 16 different products for the first time. The firm which has gained the identity of a global company continues to provide serious contributions to the economy and employment by showing active presence in 25 different countries.
Domestic Chip Production and Quantum Technologies
The company does not limit its future vision to conventional weapons but also invests in critical technologies. Capacity increase is being executed regarding the design and production of military chips needed by the country. 2026 will be a year where new processes are commissioned in military chip technology and infrastructure investments for quantum chips increase. Also continuing to be the electronic heart of national platforms like Kizilelma and Altay tank the company walks with firm steps towards the goal of ending foreign dependency in the defense industry.
