NVIDIA Confirms DLSS 5 for RTX 40 Series After RTX 50 Launch
NVIDIA has officially confirmed that its next-generation DLSS 5 technology will initially launch exclusively for the upcoming RTX 50 series graphics cards. The company elaborated that after completing model optimization processes for its new Blackwell architecture-based cards, it plans to extend this AI-powered technology to the existing RTX 40 series. DLSS 5, which debuted with the NBA 2K27 game and utilizes a 3D-Guided Neural Rendering method, currently represents the most computationally demanding AI model. NVIDIA emphasizes that further efficiency improvements are necessary before the RTX 40 series can fully leverage this advanced visual experience.

Anticipation Builds for RTX 40 Series Access
While no definitive release date has been provided for RTX 40 series owners to access DLSS 5, NVIDIA’s track record with model tuning offers a promising outlook. Due to the RTX 40 series’ lack of Multi-Frame Generation (MFG) support, substantial performance enhancements are required for the model to operate efficiently on these cards. NVIDIA stated that once performance settings for the RTX 50 series are fully stabilized, official support efforts for the RTX 40 series, which are based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, will commence.

NVIDIA has indicated that optimization efforts for DLSS 5 are progressing without interruption. New updates expected in the coming months are planned to make the model seven to ten times more efficient compared to its initial introduction.
