KKB Hackathon 2026 Crowns Young AI Innovators
The second annual KKB Hackathon concluded with a display of high-level technical prowess as young developers converged at the MEXT Technology Center to tackle the theme of “Agentic Data Analytics.” Organized by the Credit Bureau of Turkey (KKB), the intense competition challenged university students to build autonomous AI agents capable of extracting actionable insights from complex datasets. The event showcased the next generation of tech talent, with 60 teams selected from an initial pool of 522 groups. This year’s KKB Hackathon highlighted the increasing role of artificial intelligence in financial infrastructure, awarding a total of 875,000 TL in prizes to the most promising projects.
- Participants utilized KKB’s proprietary Kloudeks cloud infrastructure to develop functional demos using large language models.
- The competition awarded a combined prize pool of 875,000 TL to the top 14 finalist teams.
- Former participants who now work at KKB designed the AI-based evaluation engine used to score this year’s entries.
Teams Utilize Kloudeks for Real-World Applications
During the two-week semi-final phase, finalists collaborated directly with KKB engineers to refine their technical solutions. By leveraging the Kloudeks cloud platform, these students gained unprecedented access to advanced embedding services and large language models. This hands-on experience allowed them to move beyond theoretical models, creating practical applications that could realistically integrate into modern financial business processes. The final day of the event featured presentations before a distinguished panel of industry experts, including representatives from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) and leading academic figures.
Top Innovators Receive Financial Recognition
The competition prioritized criteria such as technical innovation, practical implementation, and code quality. The team “Uçan Hamsiler” secured the first-place prize of 200,000 TL, while “Agen’t” followed in second place with 150,000 TL. Additionally, three other teams—CsMain, Optimizrah, and Swarm Mind—were each awarded 100,000 TL for their third-place finishes. To encourage continued innovation, the remaining nine finalist teams received a motivational support award of 25,000 TL each.
Former Participants Now Influence The Evaluation Process
A unique aspect of the KKB Hackathon is its commitment to long-term professional development and talent retention. Notably, 13 participants from last year’s final round successfully transitioned into engineering roles within the company. This group was instrumental in the current event’s success, as they were responsible for coding the AI-based evaluation engine used to judge this year’s submissions. This cycle of talent underscores the sustainable nature of the event as a pipeline for specialized human resources.
Corporate Leaders Emphasize The Importance of Talent Ecosystems
Nil Durukanoğlu, Deputy General Manager of Human Resources and Corporate Communications at KKB, noted that the competition serves as a critical talent ecosystem rather than a simple contest. By opening up internal data infrastructure to students, the firm aims to bolster Turkey’s overall capacity for technological production. The fact that previous contestants are now building the systems that assess current candidates serves as a testament to the effectiveness of this professional development model.
