The system, which is manufactured at the company’s Bratislava facility in Slovakia, utilizes a base plate installed on the ground of a garage or parking space.     Costs and Infrastructure Requirements Increase

This figure includes 1,844.50 euros for the vehicle-side hardware and 5,116.99 euros for the external ground pad. Owners of the electric Cayenne, which has a starting price of 105,200 euros, must view this as a premium luxury upgrade.

    A critical consideration for potential buyers is the necessity of factory preparation. For customers who may want the system in the future but are not ready to commit to the full purchase, Porsche offers a preliminary infrastructure package for 226 euros. It is essential to note that if this preparation is not selected during the initial build, the wireless charging system cannot be retrofitted at a later stage. The technology is set to roll out across Porsche Connect markets, excluding China, though the company has yet to confirm if this feature will be expanded to the Taycan, Macan, or the upcoming electric 718 models.
