Tesla Expands Network With New Amasya Supercharger Station

Tesla has launched a new 8-stall Supercharger station in Amasya, Turkey, closing a critical charging gap on the route between the Black Sea and Central Anatolia.

Tesla has officially expanded its high-speed charging infrastructure in Turkey with the opening of the new Tesla Amasya Supercharger station on October 9. Located strategically on the Samsun–Çorum highway within the Karamustafapaşa district, this facility serves as a vital link for electric vehicle drivers traveling between the Black Sea region and Central Anatolia. By addressing a long-standing gap in the charging network, the new station allows motorists to complete their journeys toward Ankara or Çorum without needing to enter the city center. This addition marks a significant milestone in Tesla’s commitment to facilitating long-distance electric mobility across the country.

    • The new station features eight charging stalls capable of delivering up to 250 kW of power.
    • The facility remains operational 24 hours a day and provides access to non-Tesla electric vehicles equipped with CCS technology.
    • The location fills a critical infrastructure void between the existing Samsun Tekkeköy and Çankırı Ilgaz stations.

The New Station Offers Fast Charging Capabilities

The Amasya Supercharger site is equipped with eight state-of-the-art charging units, each providing up to 250 kW of power. This high-capacity output enables drivers to replenish a significant portion of their vehicle’s battery during a brief stop. The inclusion of eight stalls is particularly beneficial during peak travel periods, such as public holidays, as it effectively reduces waiting times for commuters navigating the busy Black Sea route.

Non-Tesla Drivers Can Utilize the Infrastructure

In alignment with current Turkish regulations, the Supercharger network is not exclusive to Tesla owners. Drivers of other electric vehicles compatible with CCS charging standards can utilize these units. To initiate a charging session, non-Tesla owners must use the official Tesla mobile application, which also handles the payment process. Tesla maintains a consistent pricing policy across its network, with current rates accessible via the application prior to arrival.

    The Network Strategic Importance Grows

The addition of the Amasya site is part of a broader expansion strategy that has seen Tesla add several new locations throughout 2026, including sites in Izmit, Eskisehir, and Mugla. With this latest development, the total number of official Tesla locations in Turkey has reached 35. This growth follows the company’s previously stated objective to increase its charging footprint significantly year-over-year, ensuring that the charging experience remains seamless for travelers across diverse regions.

    Intermediate Points Solve Travel Challenges

While major urban centers often dominate the news regarding electric vehicle infrastructure, the real challenge for long-distance drivers lies in providing reliable charging points along transit routes. The Amasya station acts as a crucial bridge between the Samsun and Çankırı nodes, simplifying travel plans for those moving between the coast and the inland provinces. As the network expands further, the focus is expected to shift toward the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions, which represent the next frontier for establishing a truly comprehensive, nationwide high-speed charging grid.
