Sandisk Stock Split: 8-for-1 Split Follows 378% Revenue Surge

The Sandisk stock split is coming: on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Sandisk announced an eight-for-one forward stock split alongside fiscal first quarter results that showed revenue of $11.03 billion, up 378% from a year earlier. Split-adjusted trading of SNDK is expected to begin on November 20, 2026.
Sandisk Stock Split: Key Dates for Shareholders
According to Sandisk’s official release, stockholders of record as of the close of business on November 9, 2026 will receive seven additional shares for every share they hold. The new shares will be issued after market close on Thursday, November 19, and the stock is expected to start trading on a split-adjusted basis at the market open on Friday, November 20, under the existing ticker SNDK.
The company says the split is meant to make the stock “more accessible,” including to employees buying through its employee stock purchase plan. As with any split, it does not change Sandisk’s market value or anyone’s ownership percentage. In an 8-K filing with the SEC, Sandisk said authorized common shares will rise from 450 million to 3.6 billion to accommodate it.
Record Quarter Driven by AI Data Centers
The split comes on the back of a remarkable quarter. Revenue of $11.03 billion was up 23% from the previous quarter and beat Sandisk’s own guidance of $10.3 billion to $10.8 billion. GAAP net income reached $8.1 billion, or $52.60 per diluted share, compared with $112 million a year ago. Gross margin hit 85%, up from 29.8% in the same quarter last year.
Data center revenue was the standout, rising 61% quarter over quarter to $4.8 billion, compared with just $269 million a year earlier. Edge revenue, which covers PCs and phones, grew 7% sequentially to $5.83 billion, while consumer revenue fell 29% to $397 million. Sandisk also bought back about 3.2 million shares for $5 billion during the quarter.
The numbers mirror what other memory makers are reporting as AI servers soak up flash and DRAM supply. SK Hynix posted record Q3 revenue this week, and Samsung hit record revenue driven by AI memory demand. Sandisk itself has been pushing high-capacity enterprise drives, with a goal of 512TB SSDs by 2027.
Q2 Outlook and Stock Reaction
For the fiscal second quarter, Sandisk expects revenue of $12.2 billion to $12.6 billion and non-GAAP earnings of $55 to $57 per share on a pre-split basis. On the earnings call, the company said that equals $6.88 to $7.13 per share after the eight-for-one split, and added that it expects “a strong market in calendar year 2027.”
Even so, shares slipped more than 4% in after-hours trading, according to MarketWatch, as investors weighed results against expectations that had already climbed sharply. Analysts had expected revenue of about $10.7 billion.
What It Means for Investors
A stock split does not make a company cheaper or more valuable; it simply divides each share into smaller pieces. For retail investors, a lower per-share price can make it easier to buy whole shares, and companies often split after big rallies. Anyone holding SNDK on November 9 does not need to do anything: brokers will add the extra shares automatically, and per-share figures such as earnings guidance will be reported on a split-adjusted basis from November 20.
