Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout series has brought the post-apocalyptic game series back into the spotlight. Developer studio Bethesda wanted to capitalize on this popularity and released a giant update for Fallout 4. Fallout 4 now offers full support on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
What does the Fallout 4 update bring?
Bethesda has released the highly anticipated next-gen update for Fallout 4. The update brings a number of improvements and new features to the RPG. Chief among them is a game optimized for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
Console players will be able to choose between two different graphics modes. Quality mode aims for 30FPS at 4K using ultra settings, while Performance mode aims for 60FPS at 4K using standard settings with dynamic resolution scaling.
And if you’re playing on a 1440p display, Performance mode will lock in 60FPS at that resolution using ultra settings.
In addition to visual upgrades, the update includes bug fixes to improve stability across all platforms. Issues such as save corruption, dialog crashes, and issues that caused the game to close and reopen have been fixed.
PC players received official support for widescreen and ultra-widescreen. It was stated that the game will also have the Steam Deck badge with the update. In addition to Steam, Fallout 4 will now be available for purchase on the Epic Games Store.
As a bonus, a range of Creation Club content including weapon/armor skins, Halloween Workshop, and more will be available for free to all players. The next-gen update is around 15GB in size on Steam. It is available for download for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5.
