Denza, the premium brand of the BYD Group, is preparing for an ambitious entry into the European market. The highly anticipated Denza Z9 GT and its accompanying 1,500 kW “Flash Charging” stations are arriving in Europe this April. This new technology aims to make long charging times a thing of the past for EV owners.
BYD Hits Europe: The Denza Z9 GT Charges in Just 5 Minutes!
The system, already operational in China, can boost the battery from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes. Reaching a 97% charge takes only 9 minutes. The system is so robust that even in extreme cold—as low as -30°C—these times increase by only about 3 minutes. This speed represents more than triple the power of current leading fast-charging stations.

Performance and Range: The “1,000 km” Milestone
The Z9 GT can offer a range of up to 1,036 kilometers (CLTC) on a single charge. The rear-wheel-drive version features a 122 kWh Blade Battery with a range of 800 km. The performance-focused trim, equipped with a triple-electric motor setup, produces over 960 horsepower and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds.
Strategic Rollout and European Pricing
Upon its debut in China, the vehicle received 5,000 orders within the first 36 hours, becoming the fastest luxury GT to reach 10,000 deliveries. While European pricing has not yet been officially finalized, the car starts at approximately $45,900 in China, reaching $52,600 for top trims. Even with added taxes, it is expected to remain more affordable than rivals from Porsche, Audi, and BMW.
BYD plans to install 20,000 “Flash Charging” stations in China by the end of the year. In Europe, the company targets 2,000 stations across the UK, Germany, Italy, France, and Spain by the end of 2026. Much like Tesla’s early strategy, this ultra-fast charging network will be exclusive to BYD and Denza owners.
