Huawei, blacklisted by the U.S. in 2019, continues to recover from the impact of these sanctions. The Chinese manufacturer is now counting down to the eagerly anticipated release of the Mate 70 series. Recently, an official statement regarding the launch of the Mate 70 family was issued.
Huawei Confirms November Launch for Mate 70 Series
Huawei has officially confirmed that the Mate 70 series will launch in November. A company executive shared the news on Weibo, highlighting that the new series will be the most powerful Mate lineup to date. It was also emphasized that the smartphones will come with Huawei’s new HarmonyOS NEXT operating system.
Although the executive confirmed a November release for the Mate 70 models, no specific date was provided. However, according to reliable industry sources, a launch event is expected in mid-November.
Considering recent developments, it’s evident that the series launch has been slightly delayed. Notably, the Mate 60 series was released in August last year. Although no official explanation has been given for this delay, it’s speculated that work on HarmonyOS NEXT may have played a role.
The Mate 70 series is expected to include four models: Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 Ultimate Design. Among the noteworthy upgrades is the replacement of the optical fingerprint scanner with ultrasonic fingerprint readers, providing a faster and more reliable scanning experience, especially with wet fingers. This shift in technology was also seen in flagship models like the OnePlus 13 and Xiaomi 15.
