China-based AYANEO, which has been attracting attention in the portable gaming hardware sector in recent years, has officially introduced the FLIP 1S DS, its new handheld console model with a dual screen and built-in keyboard. The company states that the device appeals to a new user base with its design that combines mobility, performance, and productivity.
The AYANEO FLIP 1S DS has been unveiled
The FLIP 1S DS stands out with its foldable design. The main display features a 7-inch OLED panel with a 1920×1080 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The display can reach up to 800 nits of brightness with HDR support.
The second display is located at the bottom of the device. The 4.5-inch LCD screen has a 3:2 aspect ratio and functions as an extended display in the Windows environment. This screen allows for monitoring system statistics during gameplay, accessing online guides, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
The software integration of the second display is completed with the AYASpace 3.0 interface, developed by AYANEO. This interface offers productivity-focused innovations such as a special pause mode called “Snowfield” for the secondary display and keyboard and mouse emulation. The physical keyboard is also integrated as a complement to this system.
Two different AMD processor options are available. Users can choose from the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 or the Ryzen 7 8840U. Both processors are among the chips developed for high-performance portable systems. This hardware provides a desktop-like experience, particularly for AAA games and productivity software.
The control components feature remarkable technologies. The device is equipped with medium-sized electromagnetic TMR joysticks. This system provides significant advantages in terms of responsiveness and accuracy, especially in FPS and platformer games that require precise movement. The joysticks are accompanied by linear Hall Effect triggers and dual-axis vibration motors that physically support the gaming experience.
Hardware options include 16, 32, and 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM. Storage options include PCIe 4.0 SSDs with 1 or 2TB capacities in the M.2 2230 format. The device’s cooling system is supported by a large vapor chamber and active air cooling. Additionally, the 45Wh battery extends the device’s mobile life.
Connectivity options include dual USB4 Type-C ports, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device offers biometric security with a fingerprint reader. Wireless connectivity features include WiFi and Bluetooth 5.3. The operating system runs Windows 11 Home.
The FLIP 1S DS is available for sale through an Indiegogo campaign. One of the configurations available for pre-order is the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. This version is available for a limited time at $799. After the campaign, the price is expected to rise to $999.
