Another licensed NBA game is joining the ranks. NBA The Run, a new NBA game focusing on a 3-on-3 street match format, has been officially announced, and the first trailer has been released.
A new NBA game is coming
Similar to the long-standing rivalry between PES and FIFA in football, the basketball rivalry between NBA 2K and NBA Live has been a constant for many years. While Konami prevailed in the football arena, EA ultimately threw in the towel in the basketball arena.

The NBA 2K series has maintained its dominance among basketball games ever since, and this doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. However, those looking for a different NBA game will soon have another option.
Play by Play Studios, founded by a team previously working under EA, has developed a new basketball game called NBA The Run. As the NBA in its name suggests, this new game, like NBA 2K, was developed in partnership with and under license from the NBA.
However, this new game won’t offer realistic match simulations like NBA 2K. Instead, it will focus on street basketball matches, where teams of three compete against each other. Of course, since this is a licensed game, players will be able to create their teams by choosing familiar basketball players.
Bobbito Garcia, who hosted previous NBA Street games, will provide a similar experience as the narrator in NBA The Run. NBA The Run will be available next year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. No release date has been announced yet.
