A renowned smartphone manufacturer has exited the market!

Meizu, owned by Geely, announced that it would switch sectors to focus on artificial intelligence (AI) production. Here are the details...

The smartphone industry is witnessing fierce competition with each passing day. Companies are striving to expand their market share by highlighting various features. While some companies have managed to establish their own customer base by making significant advancements, others have succumbed to competition.

Meizu discontinues smartphone production and pivots to artificial intelligence products. After operating in China for a long time and then expanding globally, Meizu established itself as a significant manufacturer by producing devices in the mid-range and high-end segments. However, the company has made a radical decision to exit the smartphone sector.

Meizu will focus its efforts on producing AI-supported products, along with its FlymeOS team in the Android world. Acquired by Geely, the China-based parent company of Volvo, in June 2022, Meizu will channel all its efforts into producing AI-powered products.

Meizu also promised “a brand new mobile operating system tailored for the era of artificial intelligence.” Additionally, they stated that they would introduce new products later this year. Meanwhile, the company is also gearing up for the launch of its flagship model, the Meizu 21 Pro, which could potentially be the company’s last phone.
