Japanese automotive giant Honda is drawing attention with its new electric model, the Super-N, which combines retro design lines with modern technology. Described by the company as “fun and cute,” this new electric hot hatch will be offered in the UK market with a starting price of under £20,000 (approximately $27,000). A more powerful version of the N-One e model already on sale in Japan, the vehicle aims to start a new era in the electric car world with its affordable price.
Honda Super-N Technical Specifications and Performance
Built on Honda’s N-Series platform, known for its lightweight structure, the Super-N produces 63 horsepower in standard use. However, thanks to the special Boost Mode feature, this power can momentarily increase to 93 horsepower. Aiming to increase driving pleasure, Honda includes a simulated 7-speed transmission and a special sound system that emits artificial engine noises, similar to Hyundai’s performance-oriented “N” models. This allows drivers to experience the feel of a traditional sports car in an electric vehicle.

Providing a great advantage in city use with its compact dimensions, the vehicle is only 3,395 mm long. Smaller even than one of its closest rivals, the Renault Twingo E-Tech, the Super-N is among the lightest models in its segment at approximately 1,300 kg. Its range capacity can reach up to 199 miles in city use, while offering a 128-mile range in mixed use. Honda officials emphasize that this model is not a direct successor to the discontinued Honda e but rather rises on a completely different platform.
Competition and Market Strategy
In a period where competition in the electric vehicle market is rapidly increasing, the Honda Super-N will compete with strong models such as the Kia EV2, Renault Twingo, and the future Volkswagen ID.1. Despite its compact exterior design, it is stated that the interior offers a spacious living area large enough for a family to fit comfortably.
Honda will begin taking pre-orders for the Super-N model in Japan on April 16, while the vehicle’s arrival on UK roads is expected to be in July. Currently, there are no wide-scale plans for a broader European launch, as the company is focusing on specific markets like Great Britain first.
