World-famous video platform YouTube has announced a new feature aimed at delighting its users following recent Premium price increases, including in Turkey. This feature, designed to improve user experience, allows viewers to adjust video playback speed with far more precision. Here are the details…
YouTube now offers precise speed adjustments
With the new update, YouTube is adding a slider that gives users much more precise control when setting playback speed. This slider allows adjustments in 0.05-second increments. This update is especially useful for various viewers, from students who speed up lengthy videos to complete assignments, to those who need to slow down instructional videos to follow along step-by-step.
The previous playback speed settings only allowed users to select speeds of 0.25x, 1.0x, 1.25x, 1.5x, and 2.0x. The new slider retains these options while allowing finer adjustments. As users adjust the speed on the slider, the chosen speed will display on the screen, giving them the ability to customize their viewing experience precisely as they wish.
This YouTube update is part of Google’s efforts to align with ‘Material You‘ design standards. The update is available on Android devices with YouTube version 19.43 and iOS devices with version 19.44. It seems Google will continue to respond to users’ demands for more granular settings as they arise.
