Rumors of a new Spider-Man movie starring Tobey Maguire are on the agenda of social media. Tobey Maguire, who was included in the universe again with Spider-Man: No Homecoming, gave the message that Sam Raimi, the director of the first Spider-Man films, could also return. Sam Raimi spoke about these claims.
Sam Raimi may not be in Spider-Man 4
Speaking at an event in the US, Sam Raimi said that he has read Spider-Man 4 rumors. However, he stated that he is not working on such a project yet. Raimi, known for being the director of the Spider-Man trilogy, said he doubted that there would be new productions.
He appreciated the success of the Spider-Man movies with Tom Holland. He then said that both Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios would not choose to return to his vision. Raimi also said that he has not spoken to Maguire about returning for Spider-Man 4.
Sam Raimi originally planned to make Spider-Man 4 after the third movie in 2007, but the project was shelved due to a disagreement over a release date. “We had a script years ago and we were actively working on production,” Raimi said in an interview last year.
The reunion of Raimi and Maguire could have revitalized an era in the Marvel world. But these words from the famous director suggest that it would be wise to temper expectations for now. Sony, however, has yet to comment on the rumors.
