New information came today for the iPhone SE 4 model, which has been on the agenda for a long time. Apple will not launch the model. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple canceled the iPhone SE 4 model. Kuo reported that Apple wants the 5G modem to have higher performance on the device.
Apple says 5G modem has a low-performance problem
Until now, the phone, which is said to be built directly on the iPhone XR body, was last on the agenda with the statements of Ross Young. Young stated that Apple is considering multiple displays for the model, including a 6.1-inch OLED and a 5.7-inch to 6.1-inch LCD. The company, which has not yet made the final decision on this issue, will never bring the phone to the market. This new information is actually not a surprise. Because recently, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said, “Apple has either canceled the model or postponed the release very significantly.”
Stating that he received new information from the supply process today, Kuo announced that the phone will not be released to the market. According to Kuo, the SE 4 was previously claimed to arrive in early 2024. Also, it would have been the first iPhone to be built on Apple’s actively developing 5G modem, according to Kuo. However, due to “low-performance concerns” around this modem, the SE 4 model is history. Apple will continue to develop the modem but will not use it in any device until high performance is achieved.
In addition, Kuo said that due to the status of the Apple-signed modem, Qualcomm-signed 5G modems will be used in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16. Kuo said “Qualcomm is the biggest winner of Apple’s cancelation of the 2024 iPhone SE 4”. Apple had made a major purchase from Intel to produce its own 5G modem.
There will be four different iPhones from Apple in 2023 with 99 percent certainty. Also, the iPhone 15 series will appear in September 2023. According to some claims, the series will specifically include the 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Ultra models.
