Samsung today (June 13) unveiled its new budget-friendly Galaxy Watch FE smartwatch, equipped with an advanced sensor. The company says the Galaxy Watch FE is “stylish and durable” but has the health-tracking features consumers need.

The new watch measures 40mm and comes with a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display. Samsung says the Galaxy Watch FE has a “one-click band” feature so users can easily change bands.
The device is equipped with Sapphire Crystal Glass, which protects against scratches in everyday use. The Galaxy Watch FE’s BioActive Sensor, like the one on the Galaxy Watch 6, helps users keep track of their health and fitness data.
The company says that the sensor will offer “actions” that are geared towards users’ well-being. Regarding heart health, the device is said to include an HR Alert that alerts users if their heart rate is abnormally high or low.
In addition, Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) can alert users to symptoms of Afib. There is also an option to perform a quick ECG. Galaxy Watch FE offers sleep pattern tracking, sleep coaching and tips on creating a sleep-friendly environment for a better night’s sleep.
Galaxy Watch FE owners can take advantage of more than 100 training options. Runners are rewarded with deep analytics, including performance analysis, insights and guidance to prevent future injuries. A Personalized Heart Rate Zone will help users reach their goals, while Body Composition data will help you reach your personal progress goals.
Samsung’s budget-friendly Android smartwatch pairs perfectly with your Galaxy phone with its “Find My Phone” feature. With this feature, you can quickly locate your phone and control your phone’s camera with the “Camera Controller”. The Galaxy Watch FE allows users to change camera modes and adjust its angle or zoom level.
The device also supports Samsung Wallet, allowing you to make easy contactless payments from your wrist and access important cards such as your driver’s license. Samsung’s latest smartwatch comes with a 247mAh battery powered by One UI 5 Watch. Inside is an Exynos W920 Dual Core chip, 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.
The Bluetooth version of the Galaxy Watch FE will launch on June 24th and the LTE variant will arrive later this year, but Samsung hasn’t specified an exact date. The device will be available in black, rose gold and silver color options. Consumers can get the Bluetooth Galaxy Watch FE for $199.99, while the LTE variant will sell for $249.99.
