Qualcomm has finally announced the long-awaited Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, an AI-powered processor. Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 will power the Redmi Note 15 Pro+
According to the official announcement released by Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will feature this new chipset. Redmi will also announce the Redmi Note 15 Pro series in China tomorrow, August 21st. Looking at the new processor’s specifications, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 features the same 1+3+4 Kryo CPU design, manufactured on the 4nm process.

The Prime Cortex-A720 cores now operate at 2.7 GHz, slightly higher than last year’s 2.5 GHz, while three Cortex-A720 cores operate at 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A520 cores remain at 1.8 GHz. Qualcomm claims a 7% performance increase in CPU tasks. The upgraded Adreno GPU will also provide a 7% boost.
Features like Snapdragon Game Super Resolution and Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0 enhance visual quality, delivering a smoother gaming experience. Display support has also been expanded, enabling ultra-wide panels with resolutions up to 2,900 x 1,300 at a 144 Hz refresh rate. This makes the chipset suitable for gaming phones and portable devices. It also supports 200-megapixel cameras and 4K video recording at 30 fps in HDR10 and HDR10+. The updated Hexagon NPU supports models like the Llama 1B and Qwen 1B, providing improvements in real-time translation and AI-assisted tasks. Connectivity features include sub-6GHz 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and aptX Lossless audio. Storage support is limited to LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1.
