Even though we haven’t even entered December, YouTube Music has begun releasing its annual listening recap, the 2025 Recap. This year’s recap features an interesting AI-powered “Ask About Your Listens” experience. The YouTube Music Recap, released at the end of November, follows the schedule of previous years and, as usual, is being rolled out early, skipping December.
“Ask About Your Listens” Feature Coming
To see the recap, if you haven’t received a notification, tap your profile avatar in the top right corner to access “Your Recap” on Android or iOS. As always, tapping the “Get Your Recap” button starts with a story, but you can always jump to a specific section using the wheel menu.

The 2025 Recap begins with your listening time and “longest streak.” This is followed by your most-listened-to songs and top five songs. Also, don’t forget to save your playlist for the period September-November 2025.
Your Musical Best Friend displays your most-listened-to artists and offers a calendar view showing the days they were listened to. As part of your 2025 Musical Passport, you’ll also find a quirky detail like “You’ve listened to artists from XX different places/countries.”
Other sections include most-streamed albums, podcasts, genres, and a final graph that brings everything together.
New this year is how YouTube uses the “Ask About Music” feature to delve into your history. Suggested questions and prompts include:
- How has my listening changed over the year?
- Was my music more relaxed or more active?
- Describe my listening like a weather report.
- Did I explore more, or did I listen to it repeatedly?
- What were my most-listened-to electronic dance music songs?
- What animal best suits my musical tastes?
This feature uses your YouTube history to offer suggestions and insights into your unique tastes. You can ask any question you want through the chatbot interface, and each answer is displayed as a shareable graphic.
