Apple is updating its offerings at its annual September event, alongside new iPhone models. The long-awaited AirPods Pro 3 will be unveiled at the event on September 9th. The new-generation headphones stand out with features such as a more powerful chip, advanced noise cancellation, and health sensors.
AirPods Pro 3 Coming Soon
The AirPods Pro 3 comes with Apple’s new H3 chip. Similar to the advanced audio features and software updates provided by the previous-generation H2 chip, the H3 is expected to bring better sound quality and new capabilities.
This new chip will offer significant improvements, particularly in noise cancellation performance. Apple doubled the noise cancellation power of the AirPods Pro 2. Now, it’s being reported that this feature will be further enhanced in the AirPods Pro 3.
The new earbuds’ charging case and design also feature some changes. According to reports, the AirPods Pro 3’s charging case is slightly smaller and features a touch-sensitive alternative to the physical pairing button.
This change is said to be inspired by the AirPods 4. The earbuds themselves have also been slightly smaller to accommodate the new case. However, the design changes appear to be minor overall.
Apple is preparing to make the AirPods Pro 3 more than just an audio device. Heart rate and temperature sensors are being added to the earbuds. The company used a heart rate sensor in the Powerbeats Pro 2 model earlier this year. Now, a similar feature is coming to the AirPods Pro, allowing users to track their health data without needing an Apple Watch.
Finally, the Live Translation feature, which will be available with iOS 26, is expected to be announced alongside the AirPods Pro 3. This feature will make it easier for two people speaking different languages to communicate face-to-face.
The language spoken by one person will be instantly translated into the other language through the Translate app on the iPhone and transmitted through the earbuds. This feature is rumored to be one of the special capabilities of the H3 chip.
