Apple has officially announced that it will cooperate with Alibaba to offer artificial intelligence services in China. Alibaba President Joe Tsai said at the World Government Summit in Dubai that Apple had met with many local technology companies but ultimately decided to work with Alibaba. Thanks to this co-operation, Apple Intelligence will be available in China.

In order for Apple to offer artificial intelligence services in the Chinese market, it became mandatory for Apple to work with a local partner. Because AI-based services in China must only be provided by local companies licensed by the government, Apple Intelligence has not been available in the region until now.
In this process, Apple also held talks with major technology companies such as Baidu, ByteDance and Tencent, but ultimately preferred Alibaba. With this agreement, Apple will start offering artificial intelligence-based features to its users in China.

Personalised recommendations will be an important part of Apple Intelligence. The system will learn users’ habits and offer suggestions to optimise their daily routines. From music preferences to calendar reminders, Apple Intelligence will develop smart solutions for users’ needs.
Language translation capabilities will also improve significantly with Apple Intelligence. An advanced language model with real-time translation will be a great advantage for foreign language learners or international travellers.
