Chinese tech giant Alibaba has made a strong entry into the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered smart glasses market with its Quark AI S1 and G1 series. The company’s new models stand out from their competitors, particularly with their replaceable dual-battery system that allows for all-day use, offering a compelling alternative in the field of wearable AI technologies.

The Quark AI S1, the higher-end model in the series, stands out with features such as transparent micro-OLED displays, multiple color options, and different lens types. The G1, designed for more everyday use, is positioned at a more affordable price point.

The S1 model is available in China with a starting price of 3,799 yuan (approximately $537), while the G1 is available with a starting price of 1,899 yuan (approximately $268). The company states that the main differences between the two models are the display technology and lens type.
Both smart glasses models feature bone conduction microphones, a built-in camera, and a replaceable battery that provides users with up to 24 hours of total usage. The glasses are powered by Qwen, Alibaba’s own AI-powered platform.
Users can control the devices via touch or voice commands via a connected app. The camera in the glasses allows for 3K video and photo capture, and also offers AI-enhanced 4K output.
The Quark series is designed to integrate with the company’s extensive ecosystem. Users can interact with popular services like Alipay and Taobao, and connect directly to music platforms like QQ Music and NetEase Cloud Music.
The glasses come with a variety of practical features that provide practical benefits for everyday use, such as instant translation, price recognition, navigation support, and transcript extraction. Alibaba will not limit the Quark series to the Chinese market; an international version will reportedly be released in 2026. However, international sales countries have not yet been announced.
