Amazon has just announced a groundbreaking Amazon Fire TV AI update at CES 2026, set to revolutionize the user experience. The company revealed a completely redesigned interface, powered by a new AI assistant and a rewritten codebase that delivers significant performance boosts.
What’s New with the Amazon Fire TV AI Update?
The first thing users will notice is the new design language, which replaces sharp edges with modern, rounded corners for everything from app icons to movie posters. However, the most significant changes are under the hood. Thanks to a completely rewritten codebase by Amazon engineers, the new interface runs 20% to 30% faster than its predecessor. Furthermore, user freedom has been expanded, with the number of pinnable apps on the home screen increasing from just 6 to 20.

This major update also extends to the mobile app. You can now use your phone as a second screen to browse content and play it directly on your TV, creating a more seamless viewing experience.
Alexa+ Takes Center Stage
At the heart of the revamped interface is Alexa+, Amazon’s next-generation AI assistant. This new assistant goes beyond simple commands, offering content suggestions based on your current mood or even who you’re watching with. It’s now possible to use commands like, “Alexa, take me to the action scene,” to jump directly to specific moments in a movie. Additionally, the remote control has been made more functional; the Menu button now provides quick access to features like Games or the Art Gallery, while a long press on the Home button opens a new shortcut panel for controlling your smart home devices.
Release Date and Compatible Devices
The new interface will begin rolling out in February, initially for the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), and the Omni Mini-LED series of televisions. A wider release, including devices from partners like Hisense, Panasonic, and TCL, is planned for the spring.
