AMD has halted shipments of the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. This 8-core processor will be discontinued once stock runs out. This effectively marks the end of the AM4-based X3D series.
Ryzen 7 5700X3D Discontinued
The Ryzen 7 5700X3D was released in 2022 and attracted particular attention for its gaming performance. Following the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, AMD introduced the lower-frequency 5700X3D and the six-core Ryzen 5 5600X3D.

Last year, retail sales of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D were discontinued, while the Ryzen 5 5600X3D remained available through a limited number of retailers. A similar process has now begun for the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. Stores are reporting that they are unable to accept new orders and will cease sales once existing stock is depleted.
AMD’s X3D processors on the AM4 platform have long been among the best-selling models, offering superior gaming performance compared to mid-range processors. However, AMD currently has no plans for new AM4-based X3D processors.
With the upcoming Zen 6 architecture, the company will focus on the AM5 platform. This development could accelerate the transition from AM4 to AM5 for gamers looking for affordable systems. Currently, many gamers are still turning to AM4-based systems due to their price advantage.
The end of AMD’s AM4 X3D era is seen as a significant turning point in the platform’s long-standing journey. While AM4 socket motherboards and processors remain popular, the tech giant’s goal of achieving greater performance and energy efficiency with next-generation processors has led to the end of the platform’s lifespan.
