AMD announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2024 and achieved a remarkable success in the industry. The company’s significant performance in data center and processor sales led to a significant increase in revenues. For the first time in history, AMD’s data center sales surpass Intel. The details are in our news…
AMD surpasses Intel in data center revenue for the first time!
The data center division, in particular, was AMD’s biggest source of revenue this quarter. Data center revenue reached $3.86 billion in Q4, up 69% year-over-year. The figures, which also showed an increase compared to the previous quarter, demonstrated the company’s rise in the data center market. AMD’s Q4 and annual financial performance for 2024 is as follows:

- Q4 revenue: 7.66 billion dollars (24% increase)
- Q4 gross margin: 51%
- Q4 net profit: $482 million
- Total annual revenue: 25.8 billion dollars (14% increase)
- Annual gross profit margin: 49
- Annual net profit: 1.64 billion dollars
AMD’s data center operating profit was $1.15 billion. That’s a big jump compared to $666 million in the same period last year. On the other hand, Intel’s data center and AI division revenues were $3.4 billion in the same period, generating only $200 million in operating profit. This clearly shows that AMD has surpassed Intel in the data center segment in terms of revenue.
However, despite all these successes, AMD still fell short of analyst expectations. Market analysts expected data center revenues to reach $4.14 billion. The company fell about 280 million dollars short of estimates. What do you think about this? You can write your opinions in the comments section below…
