AMD has quietly launched the Ryzen 5 5500X3D model based on the Zen 3 architecture without any event or official launch. The processor, which comes with an AM4 socket structure, is the cheapest X3D model introduced to date. The new model is aimed specifically at users who want to build affordable systems.
AMD Ryzen 5 5500X3D introduced
The Ryzen 5 5500X3D stands out as a trimmed version of the previously introduced Ryzen 5 5600X3D. Both models have a 6-core and 12-thread structure. However, the 5500X3D operates at 3.0 GHz base and 4.0 GHz boost frequencies.

These values are lower compared to the 5600X3D’s clock speeds of 3.3 GHz – 4.4 GHz. Considering that even the Ryzen 5 5500, which belongs to the same Zen 3 family, comes with a base frequency of 3.6 GHz, it seems that the 5500X3D is quite limited in terms of frequency.
Behind this difference is the vertical stack memory structure specific to the X3D series, namely 3D V-Cache technology. Although this technology offers serious advantages especially in gaming performance, it causes the processor’s frequencies to be limited due to thermal limits.
According to the information on AMD’s official website, the processor works with a TDP of 105W. This value means higher power consumption compared to previous X3D models. The high cache capacity and the advantages offered by the X3D architecture can make the processor attractive especially in gaming-focused systems.
The price of the Ryzen 5 5500X3D has not been officially announced yet, but expectations are that it will be offered for sale with a price tag of around $ 150. So what do you think about this product? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
