The impending wave of price increases in the graphics card market is being highlighted by AMD’s announcements to its partners. According to details shared on the China-based Board Channels forum, AMD will release future Radeon graphics cards at higher prices due to rising memory costs.
AMD May Introduce Price Increases
This development could lead to AMD implementing a new price increase across the entire Radeon lineup due to rising memory costs. DRAM and GDDR6 supply continues to be tight, and prices are expected to rise within weeks.

A small price increase was reported in October, but it wasn’t reflected in retail prices. The new price increase is expected to be broader and more significant, encompassing the entire product line.
This ranges from Radeon gaming cards to professional workstations and AI accelerators. AMD hasn’t yet made an official announcement, and the timing of the pricing changes isn’t yet clear.
The tightness in the memory market is beginning to spread throughout the industry. DDR5 prices have increased by up to 60 percent since last September. Overall DRAM costs have increased by approximately 170 percent year-over-year.
There’s also been a price increase of approximately 30 percent for GDDR6, used in graphics cards. Manufacturers are shifting capacity to DDR5, HBM, and AI hardware for data centers. This is driving up the cost of gaming GPUs.
The memory crisis, which is occurring at a time when prices are beginning to normalize in the US and European markets, particularly for the Radeon RX 9070 XT series, is creating a negative impact on gamers. Moreover, this situation won’t be limited to AMD. Nvidia is reportedly preparing for a similar price increase in early 2026.
