Apple’s long-discussed electric car project continues to fall short of expectations this year. Ever since it was first introduced, this project has been a topic of constant speculation, but these rumors never seem to lead to any developments. Today, another negative view emerged regarding the Apple Car project.
An Apple analyst is not optimistic about the Apple Car!
Apple has been in the spotlight for years with the Apple Car project, yet there have been no significant developments regarding this high-profile project. The recent news, especially given the frequent personnel changes associated with this project, has left those eagerly anticipating updates asking, “Again?”
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made a statement based on his research findings. In his remarks, he mentioned that Apple’s work on the Apple Car currently seems to have lost all visibility. He also emphasized that Apple is unlikely to succeed in this process without acquiring an established automotive company.
The analyst stated, “The development of the Apple Car appears to have lost all visibility at the moment. I have doubts that Apple Car will enter mass production in the coming years unless Apple adopts an acquisition strategy to enter the automotive market.”
Previously, data from U.S. records indicated that Apple had tested the autonomous driving system of its first vehicle with 67 different vehicles and 201 different test drivers. Last year, there was news that Apple had significantly scaled down the Apple Car project. The company, which is said to continually increase the number of vehicles and drivers involved in this effort, is not the only one working on this matter.
Similarly, the Chinese technology company Xiaomi is also working on an automobile. Moreover, it is conducting numerous tests on the roads for its autonomous driving system for its own car. The reason for this is the ability of the systems to adapt to constantly changing traffic and road conditions.
