The Writers Guild of America (WGA) and SAG-AFTRA strikes, of course, hit Disney as well, and the company delivered bad news for Star Wars fans. Andor season 2, which was originally planned to be released in 2024, will not debut on the planned date. Here are the details.
Andor season 2 has been postponed without a date
The disappointing news was revealed in the recently released 2024 Disney schedule, which made no mention of the highly anticipated second season of the Rogue One spin-off. The disruption in the production, which was originally planned to be released in 2024, was attributed to disruptions caused by both the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike and the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) actor strike.
These unforeseen difficulties prevented the series from reaching its broadcast schedule. But Andor fans feel that the additional time spent could have contributed to a more solid and engaging second season, maintaining the high standards set by the first season.
Despite the absence of Andor season 2, Disney’s 2024 release schedule has a few consolations for Star Wars fans. Among the upcoming productions is the series “The Acolyte”, which takes place during the High Republic period and has a Sith-centered narrative.
In addition, his project called “Skeleton Crew”, described as Amblin-esque and featuring famous actor Jude Law, will be released in 2024. On the animation front, “The Bad Batch” season 3 and “Tales of the Jedi” season 2 are planned to be released.
