Google unveiled the stable version of Android 14 in recent weeks and first deployed it for Pixel devices. But it’s reportedly causing major problems for some Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users. Numerous users reported that device storage was not visible after the Android 14 update.
Google Pixel 6 series storage issue with Android 14
Pixel 6 owners are not satisfied with Android 14, with complaints on social media and Google forums. Among the most common complaints are errors indicating that storage is full, even though there is free storage. Users say they can’t access storage or delete any files with Android 14.
The phone became unusable because the storage space appeared to be full. In other words, neither photos can be taken nor applications can be installed. The main cause of the problems seems to be having multiple Google accounts on a single device.
Tests performed by users revealed the profile problem. It was stated that Android 14 does not cause storage errors on single-account devices, but there are frequent crashes when switching between profiles. There are also errors such as “The system UI is not responding”.
So far, Google has not commented on the storage bug affecting the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. Frustrated users had to factory reset their devices to regain access to storage. This results in the deletion of all personal data and installed apps.
For now, this problem seems to be specific to the Pixel 6 series powered by Tensor. However, it should not be forgotten that it can expand with other manufacturers offering Android 14.
