Google has been actively working on the highly anticipated Android 14 for quite some time. Recently, the company released the second beta update of the new operating system. Today, a new feature for screen recording was discovered in this version.
With Android 14, it will be possible to capture screen recordings for a single application!
The Android 14 Beta is currently available for flagship phones such as OnePlus 11, Nothing phone (1), Vivo X90 series, and Xiaomi 13. The large number of supported models is also speeding up the discovery of new features.
Mishaal Rahman, a technology editor who specializes in producing Android-related content, shared a new feature coming to Android 14 today: screen recording. According to Rahman, it will now be possible to record the screen of a single application.
When recording the screen of a specific application, if you return to the home menu or switch to another app, the screen will appear dimmed in the recording. This ensures that your actions outside of the selected app remain hidden.
Additionally, while recording the screen, you will have the option to disable audio recording and hide touch indicators. Moreover, with Android 14, you will be able to hide notifications in screen recordings. You will be able to see them, but viewers of the video will not. This is an important privacy feature.
In truth, the new screen recording feature is already available in Samsung’s One UI interface. However, Android 14 will bring this feature to all phone models without the need for brand differentiation. Google aims to enhance user privacy.
The main features coming with Android 14 include
- Partial access to your gallery for apps that require gallery access.
- Emoji Lab app to create custom wallpapers with shapes and patterns.
- New themes that are compatible with wallpapers.
- Previewing wallpapers before applying them.
- Choosing the first day of the week, calendar preference, and temperature units.
- Customizing the color of the LED light on the phone.
- New options for document and media sharing.
- Interface improvements for the Settings app.
